Overview

Angler School is a static informational website. It does not offer user accounts, comment sections, or email capture forms. Visitors read content without creating a profile or submitting personal information to this site directly.

This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, what third parties are involved, and what rights you have.

What This Site Collects

Server and Infrastructure Logs

The hosting and delivery infrastructure logs routine technical request data as part of standard web server and CDN operation. This includes:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Requested URL
  • HTTP referrer (the page you came from)
  • Timestamp of the request
  • HTTP response code

This data is used for security monitoring, abuse prevention, and infrastructure performance. It is not used to build visitor profiles or linked to personally identifiable information. Retention periods are set by the hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) and subject to their data retention policies.

No Direct Data Collection

This site does not:

  • Collect names, email addresses, or contact information from visitors
  • Use contact forms that transmit data to this site
  • Set first-party tracking cookies for analytics or advertising
  • Operate user accounts or session-based authentication

Analytics

This site may use privacy-respecting web analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns: which pages are read, which destinations are popular, and where visitors come from. Analytics, if active, are configured to avoid storing personally identifiable information or cross-site tracking identifiers. This policy will be updated with the specific tool and its data handling practices when analytics are added or changed.

Affiliate Links and Third-Party Redirects

Some pages use /go/ redirect links that forward visitors to third-party charter booking platforms. These links may include referral parameters so qualifying bookings can be attributed to this site for commission purposes.

What this means for your privacy:

  • Angler School does not collect payment information. All checkout, payment processing, and reservation management happens on the booking platform.
  • When you click a /go/ link and land on a booking platform, that platform’s privacy policy and cookie practices apply.
  • Booking platforms may set their own tracking cookies, use advertising pixels, or store your booking information according to their own policies. Review the booking platform’s privacy policy before completing a reservation.
  • Referral parameters in affiliate links identify traffic as coming from Angler School for commission tracking. They do not identify you personally.

Third-Party Services

This site is delivered through Cloudflare Pages (CDN and hosting). Cloudflare processes request data as part of delivering the site. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for detail on their data handling.

External links on this site (booking platforms, government agencies, data sources) are governed by those services’ own privacy policies. Angler School does not control the data practices of third-party websites.

Cookies

This site does not set first-party cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. Infrastructure-level cookies (for CDN security and caching) may be set by Cloudflare as part of normal web delivery. These are technical session identifiers, not tracking cookies.

If display advertising is added in the future, third-party ad networks may set their own cookies. This policy will be updated before advertising is activated.

California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). These include the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information.

This site does not sell personal information. The site does not collect personal information directly from visitors. Aggregate infrastructure log data retained by the hosting provider is subject to Cloudflare’s data practices.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to the processing of your personal data.

The legal basis for processing infrastructure log data (IP addresses, request metadata) is legitimate interest: operating a secure and functional website. This data is not used for profiling, advertising targeting, or any purpose beyond security and performance.

You have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of personal data held about you. Because this site does not collect personal information directly, requests of this type should be directed to the hosting provider (Cloudflare) for server log data.
