How This Site Is Written
Angler School content is produced by the site’s editorial team using a combination of structured research and drafting tools. Every published page is checked against the sourcing standards below before it goes live.
Content is written for buyers unfamiliar with fishing charters: families planning a first trip, travelers deciding between trip types, parents figuring out what works for their group. Each guide answers a specific booking decision. Content that doesn’t answer a distinct booking question doesn’t get published.
Sourcing Standards
Pricing data comes from charter booking platform listing data, checked against current market rates on major booking platforms. Price ranges on this site reflect what buyers can expect to pay when booking through major platforms in the current season. Prices are verified periodically and updated when ranges shift materially.
Species and seasonality data is sourced from NOAA Fisheries publications and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (MYFWC) data. Species windows, run timing, and catch composition claims are not published without a government fisheries source to support them.
Regulations and licensing: All licensing and regulatory claims are sourced from official government publications. Regulations change, so verify current rules before booking.
- Florida: myfwc.com
- Federal: fisheries.noaa.gov
- Alaska: Alaska Department of Fish and Game
- Hawaii: Hawaii Division of Aquatic Resources
Operator and captain information: Angler School does not name specific charter operators or captains. No operator is endorsed or recommended by name. This protects readers from acting on information that may go stale when captains change boats, retire, or adjust their offerings.
What We Don’t Publish
- Invented charter operator or captain names
- Prices not supported by current booking platform listing data
- Trip reviews or personal testimonials from invented sources
- Destination claims derived only from promotional tourism copy
- Species or regulation claims without a verifiable government source
Update Criteria
Pages are updated when:
- Pricing data changes materially from our verified range
- A regulation, bag limit, or species window changes
- A reader correction identifies a factual error
- New destination data is verified and available
